Allrighty folks Christmas is almost here, and I've got a new post for you.
What I would like to do is finish Part 1 of Cybersix Volume 2 before the 31st of December, before Christmas really.
What's actually going to happen is that I most likely won't finish in time...
I'm currently THINKING, just thinking, about maybe instead of going right into the next half of Volume 2, that I will work on the next issue of Metoerix. I've been feeling the itch to do some more work on it, despite the low quality images of the first several issues.
I've actually had a fair bit of luck regarding Meteorix lately. I've found a scan of the corrupted pages from Issue 7, I've come across a collection of unedited covers for the entire series, and just general good fortune regarding the series.
That being said here after the jump is a new page of Cybersix. I'm a little concerned about some of text balloons making sense in this page and some of the coming ones so if people could help me out and let me know what they think it would be very much appreciated.
So hey I got a new job YAY! But it's slwoing down my work on Cybersix BOO! (Even more so than normal)
I have to wake up at 5:30 in morning to get there on time and don't get home until close to 12 hours later, and its a fulltime job too. Adding in selling my bodily fluids for fun and profit at Biolife Plasma Services twice a week, it all results in greatly reduced free time.
At least I'm not as bad as updating as VGCats though :D
I'm kinda curious at the moment, the vast majority of us here on my blog are fans of Cybersix, and I was wondering a few things;
How did you first learn about Cybersix?
How did you find my blog?
Do you have any inteterest in my translations of Meteorix?
Myself I first found Cyber through the shortlived FoxKids run. I particulary remember the last bit of Lori is missing when Cyber is imploring Lucas to forgive her, and the Eye of the Beholder episode, in fact I think that was the last one I saw until I "found" the series again online.
Obviously I started the Blog.
Also obviously I am interested in Meteorix or I wouldn't be doing my slow-ass translations of it.
OKey Dokey Floks its your turn now. Also the more responses I get the faster the next few batches of Cyber may come out.
One of the more recent interests of mine has been the O.M.F.G. toys made by Octobertoys.com. You submit your designs and if they're liked enough by everyone they can be made into a 2inch rubber toy.
Currently the voting for Series 3 is in progress and I have several submissions. With a little luck 1 of them may make it inot the top 5 and be made for the series. If anyone is interested in this sort of thing the voting is currently going on on the forums of the site.
Was doing a net trawl for possible sources of Italian Cybersix volumes, and found some articles by a kamino-neko (sp?) on some of my earlier translations and noticed one of the pages had an untranslated speech bubble. Here's a corrected version of that page. I'll update the download links later.
Hello folks. This week I took a bit of a break from new pages as I've started selling plasma, but I didn't stop working on this completely. I've complied all of volume 1 (minus the bonus stuff) into a MOBI file using Calibre. I also did the same for the 3 Meteorix issues I've released. I don't know how many of you will be interested in this but here are the download links.
I've updated the Intro page for Cybersix volume two. Thanks to both of you who commented with suggestions and corrections. I didn't use every correction though, due to wanting to keep to the page's narratory tone (if that even makes sense to anyone but me...). Though most suggestions did lead to revisions of the affected parts.
I've got another page of Cyber for you all to preview. I hope you enjoy it. Pic after the jump.
Here have a very text intensive page of Cybersix. Hopefully it makes sense. If anyone catches any mistakes of unclear-ness in this please let me know what and where so I can fix it. Suggestions on what and how to change any flubs would also be appreciated.
Just a reminder for everyone; After MEgaupload went kerflooey I reuploaded everything to another site. All the new download links are on the Cybersix page, use those instead of the old ones in the posts. Someday if I'm not feeling lazy I'll go and udate every old post...
In short working download links are the Cybersix page. If they stop let me know. Don't use the links in the old posts. :P
So hey it's looking like the test conversions have finally worked allright. I still need to stick them on the Kindle to test them out but I'm feeling confident about it.
Currently I got the stuff in Zip, cbz, and Mobi files, does that work for everyone?
The files are a fair bit larger than the standard ebook but I suspect thats due to the fact that these are all images. If anyone has any suggestions on how to reduce the file size that would be awesome.
Once I confirm that the test files are good I'll post them here so you all can take a look and tell me where I screwed up with them.
Does anyone know of a reliable program that could be used to convert images to an epub file for reading on ebooks? I've done a little browsing via google but don't want to download stuff willy nilly and get something nasty... again...
Also stuff is going slow, but it is still going. I'll let you know when something of note happens or if I ever decide to stop.
Well it's Febuary now... Either tonight or tommorow translations shall begin once more. I'm not quite sure how I'll be doing the releasing of Cybersix since it no longer ends in such nice chunks. Now its in huge pieces of around 100 pages per story...
The Complete Volume 1 of cybersix has been reuploaded. I'll reupload the individual chapter downloads as well but probably won't make a post about it until they're all done.
I would appreciate it if you folks could maybe share the chapters and what on forums/boards/galleries/etc so that they can be found in multiple places and not depenedent on merely this blog. But no pressure on that.
It seems like Megaupload is going kerfluey. Which means new links for downloading are going to be needed. I'll start re-uploading soon, but if anyone wants to help please do so and post the link in the comments for this post. Thanks!
Gotta say I expected a little more hubub from the finishing of Cybersix Volume 1. Ah well.
I haven't started on Volume 2 quite yet, I want to finish Meteorix #3 at least before I start it. Fortunately that's coming along fairly well, despite the extra work these early issues need.
To give you an idea of what I mean I go from this-
And this is one of the pretty good scans. Some of the others are going to be a real pain. My Cybersix scans while they aren't perfect are nice enough that I don't have to do anything than replace the text.
Anyway that's were it all stands. I'm going to at least finish Meteorix #3 before starting Cybersix Volume 2.
Was browsing through the Cybersix stuff and decided to translate the backcover after notcing it was the same for every volume. I'm not sure how close it is to the original text, but it's the best I could do and keep it sensible.
Remember that page I was concerned about a while back? The one with the letter that's part of chapter 16. Well anyway here's that letter translated. The text is a little iffy due to the font but it was the closest one I could find to handwriting. If anyone has any suggestions for a better font or edits to the letter itself please, please, PLEASE, let me know.
