The Universe Hates My Back

So today I'm not working.

However it's because I tweaked my back to the point where standing is painfuk.

No that was not a typo.

I can work on Cybersix stuff today!

...But my laptop with the comic materials is on the other side of the house...

I make no promises unless one of you can magically teleport either my laptop to me or a punch of painkillers.

Zonked out

Sorry I haven't been to chatty lately. Getting up early for the study at Pracs/Cetero is starting to be a real drain. It's not the only reason though, I've been experimenting with various settings for my Meteorix translations, and having a fair bit of succsess. I have a better font now, and the colors are much nicer. Eventually I will take what I have learned and apply it to issue 1, but not right now. I want to get farther along and more settled with my technique before I do that.

I'm not certain on how well the tricks I've learned will apply to the Cybersix translations or if I will even need them for that. Guess I'll find out soon enough.

Current translation status is-

Cybersix Italian Covers

The covers for the Italian Cybersix releases are now collected here. From my research it looks like the best way for me to obtain the remaining Cybersix comics that weren't published in French is to obtain scans of the Italian volumes 30(?)-45 or scans of the magazine Skorpio from around 1994-1996 in which it was initially run. Unfortunately I have yet to have any luck finding either. Please spread the word to those who may be able to help.
Anyway I doubt you care about the text so here are some pictures

Covers Once More.

For those who are interested you can now get all the covers for Meteorix issues 1-81 (I still havent managed to find the remaining 9 issues) right here.

I have also managed to track down the location of the 45 Italian covers of Cybersix. The Italian release seems to be my best bet for finding the rest of the series. If anyone out there has acess to any issue above #30 I would be grateful for any aid you're willing to provide. Whether it be scans or negotiations for me getting my hands on the actual item.

Meteroix and Cybersix update.

Cybersix translation is coming along rather slow at the moment. Life and other things combined with the major amounts of dialouge are slowing me down, leaving me in a bit of a slump concerning Cybersix.

Meteorix is starting to come along quite nicely. I have just found a source of what appears to be higher quality scans all the way through the upper 70s. Providing of course the the download links all work. I think I'll focus on the ones I don't have first and then go for the rest.

In the meantime here be a Meteorix pinup image.

Meteorix 5.9

The Cover of Meteorix Issue 1
I was doing some browsing online and came across a Mexican comic by the name of Meteorix due to some uh... cough..."adult" fanart of a feline-esque character. The art style and premise from what info I could glean from various sources caught my attention and I figured I'd take a whirl at translating it. The style reminds me of the Adam Warren issues of the orignal run of Gen13. Frankly I find that to be awesome.

Translating Zombie to English

Today is a day I've been looking forward to since December 2006. Today the most excellent manga series "Highschool of the Dead" is officially released in English. This series holds a special place for me as it was the first series I started reading online without already having read some of it in book form, and was the first that I started reading as it was translated. The waiting for each chapter while vexing was part of the intrigue letting me for many theories while I waited, this was long before I discovered webcomics.

Covers and quantity

I was doing some preparations for upcoming translations and decided to post the covers for all 12 french collections. Thought you all might enjoy them and thought it may get me some more traffic by Google Image search. Oh hey you want to be freaked out? Type Disney or whatever cartoon you prefer and turn the safe search off for images. Just make sure nobody else is watching.
Also there was a question about the quantity of the series. Of volume one there are roughly 80 pics left of Volume One. Of the remaining 11 there are aproximately 200 pages each. Meaning at least a crap-ton of translation left to do.

Greetings and Obsessions

Greetings.

You may be wondering why and who this blog is about. Those of you who only know me through here can call me PharmaDan, or simply Dan if you cant take the time for the other six letters. I am a rather quiet, homebody, Pharmacy Technician intern with quite a few interests. Including a partially forgotten Saturday morning cartoon. When I have my interest kindled in something I tend to get a little obssesive about it, leading to a bit of an overdose on the subject. But this time that didnt happen. The show inquestion has a rather interesting pedigree. Its a show produced by a Canadian televison studio, based off an Argentian (? somewhere around there any way) comic book, with the animation shipped out to Japan. It is the unforgettable Cybersix. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Cybersix

Cybersix is a quite excellent show if only a short one of only 13 episodes (although I still havent gotten around to watching the last two...). Once I found out it was a comic first I was intrigued, unfortunately despite one of its creators having succsess with Dark Horse comics it was never released in America. However it was released in Italian, its native Spanish, and had an aborted Canadian release... in French.

Thankfully the internet came to the rescue. There is a thriving subculture of translting comics online, Primarily in my knowledge Manga, and Italian pr0n comics. But fortunately another fan had translated Cybersix to English, for seven issues. The can be found here http://www.zannen.ca/cybersix.php , unless of course somethig goes kablooyey. Although if youre reading this you already most likely know that. Unfortunately it doesnt look like anymore will be translated by Zaanen anytime soon. And honestly that makes me sad, and mad, combine that with boredom, free time, no desire to go out and get drunk and waste gas and money, and then square with stumbling across scans of the entire (?) French release and an internet translation site and you get my new little project.

For those of you reading this and currently suffering a joygasm take a moment we'll wait.
